What types of stock can be donated?
We do not accept goods from the general public. Newlife operates a unique charity retail model focused on new, returned, and damaged items that are safe and suitable for resale or reuse. These include:
- End of line or clearance goodsStock partners play a vital role in helping disabled children receive vital equipment and support that they urgently need.
- Clothing footwear and accessories across mens, womens and childrenswear.
- Furniture items large and small
- Electrical and hardware goods
- Small electricals (subject to PAT testing)
- Toys including CEE labels
- Seasonal and promotional items
- Samples and press tailored goods
If we’re unable to sell goods donated to us, we work with accredited recycling partners that operate under UK compliance frameworks to ensure goods are dealt with responsibly.
A note on tax relief
Many organisations are able to claim corporation tax relief when donating stock to registered UK charity. This can make the donation financially beneficial when compared to other methods of clearance and disposal.
Your finance team or accountant will be able to confirm you individual business situation and whether this advantage applies to your business and the requirements around this.
